Pieter Jacobs
Pieter Jacobs is founder of Ecosystem Intelligence Group, Inc. He is an experienced multi-discipline team lead, climate and biodiversity policy advisor, nature-based infrastructure specialist and ecological engineer. His recent assignments have involved:
– due diligence infrastructure risk assessment
– environmental impact assessment,
– climate and biodiversity program development,
– protected areas and the critical mineral strategy
– integrated watershed management for landscape stability and water resource protection,
– program performance measurement for monitoring and evaluation of climate finance,
– regional water management planning,
– scenario development and risk assessment
Jacobs is active on international development initiatives addressing infrastructure resilience, biodiversity protection and climate-smart agriculture. He has experience providing counsel to First Nation governments and has worked with companies and institutions seeking nature-positive solutions.
Jacobs has experience in the oil and gas, water resource, agriculture and municipal services sectors, with past assignments in Canada, China, The Philippines, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Dominica and Haiti. He is a professional engineer holding Canadian and EU citizenship.
